Now it's time to bring down the roof again! This is how it looks finally:






Of course there is still lots of work to do. Next week the new roof will be installed. Windows and doors are ordered... more painting is needed... and so on...

Day 1 - Lift Off

The whole house is lifted up 20cm, so that we can install the new square shaped timber

Thunder storm

Perfect Thunder storms yesterday, and I drove around with empty batteries for the camera :(

But luckily I managed to take a couple of 50-60 pics until batteries were completely empty, and one of the pics is looking pretty good:

Spring

The spring is fascinating... every time...

Winter time

I think it's time for an update with some new pics.

The last days it was pretty cold here in Germany, I have seen temperatures between -5 and -19C on my thermometer. This gave some good weather conditions to take photos: blue sky, sun shining, no wind and some snow and ice.

One night I had a great view out of my window, we had no snow yet, but it was very icy, the trees were full of ice. And the street lights made those icy trees look like they are made of glass! Unfortunately I could not really take good pictures of that, the real live view was much more impressive, but here are two shoots from the next morning:

I took some other pics when I was on holiday with some friends. We spent a few days in a small castle, located close to city Torgau, at the river Elbe. On one day we went to an old side arm of the Elbe river, there were some small lakes, completely frozen... however when we tried to take a group picture, the ice broke with a loud bang... probably we were too heavy standing all together in a group on the ice :-D
Luckily the ice did not completely break thru, so we were all save.

So I don't have pics from that... but could take some few others:
